The Hotel of Fun by Philippe StarckĄ± - This would have to be the most popular hotel in London. Behind it is ubiquitous French designer Philippe Starck and American hotelier Ivan Schrager, former owner of Studio 54 in New York. In the northern part of Oxford Street, a business district, the area is quiet after 5:00 pm and on weekends. But this place really jumps. The big red lip-like sofa is the focal point of the lobby. There are African carvings, a classic antique sofa, 70s retro styled plastic chairs and more. The rooms are out of this world and loads of fun. they use a fake pearl necklace as the Do Not Disturb sign. On the ceiling is a painted landscape. Very nice to wake-up to. Starcks signature design uses a glass partition as curtains to divide bedrooms and bathrooms instead of walls. This also creates a spacious-looking suite.
